About Brooks & Falotico

Brooks & Falotico is a residential architecture firm with offices in Connecticut and Palm Beach. We have designed homes in Jackson Hole, Aspen, and Bermuda, among other locations. Our work ranges in scale and complexity from 500-square-foot renovations to multi-building estates, and seamlessly transitions between traditional and modern.

The firm of over 20 collaborative professionals is known for creating innovative solutions to design challenges. We design every building with its surroundings in mind — think waterfront homes built to last while maximizing views; ski-in-ski-out mountain lodges; and classic facades in traditional neighborhoods, which give way to contemporary interiors suited to modern life. Founder Louise Brooks and principal architect Vincent Falotico are involved at every stage and take great pride in the relationships they build with their clients.

Historic Renovation

Project Description

This home, originally built in the 19th century, needed to be upgraded and adjusted to meet the needs of a modern family. Carefully laid-out roof lines and window proportions echo the vernacular of the original structure without overpowering it. The front entry was challenging to execute. Located on the side of the existing house, it doesn’t face the street. Our design had to clearly communicate that this was the main entrance to the home. We kept the original second-floor gable with little change, but pulled the whole first exterior wall forward and added new doors, new windows, and a covered porch. The landscape architect we worked with created a driveway with stone details that helps communicate that this is the front door.

Shingle-Style Home For An Active Family

Project Description

Our client bought this property for their young, active family of six. We tore down the existing house and built a new one on a different part of the property, which made space for a big backyard where their kids can play. There are customized comforts and thoughtful design elements throughout the home. One of the most striking features is the line of sight spanning the great room, butler’s pantry, and kitchen. In the mudroom, we designed a sports-equipment closet, a niche for a water fountain, and built-in dog crates. The cozy, wood-paneled office has a bar equipped with a sink, wine refrigerator, dishwasher, and locking wine cabinet.

Modern Home On The Water

Project Description

We designed this home for a young family. Avid boaters, they wanted a contemporary, clean home on the water. The stair was inspired by the Guggenheim Museum, and interior designer Janet Zachar complemented the architecture with iconic mid-century design pieces.

Stylish, Modern Renovation

Project Description

This is a colonial spec house designed for a developer on a 2 acre lot in Greenwich, CT.

When our client bought this century-old farmhouse, it had been renovated several times and was made up of many small rooms. In order to make it viable for a young family’s modern lifestyle, we completely reimagined the floor plan. Now, it has an open kitchen and family room, as well as more formal dining and living spaces, all of which open onto a terrace that spans the length of the home.
