Interstate + Lakeland Lumber, is seeking an Inside Counter Sales Associate for our newly renovated Shrub Oak, NY location.

To continue the commitment to servicing our customers, we are currently seeking an Inside Counter Sales Associate to join our Shrub Oak, NY, Inside Sales Associate team. The ideal candidate must have a can-do attitude, be a quick learner and get along well with others.
Summary/Objective: The Counter Salesperson is responsible for providing customers with outstanding customer service which includes Point-of-Sale in-person, phone, and by email sales communication. You will need to be knowledgeable about the lumber building materials and hardware accessories. This role needs to be able to follow the manager's directions and complete task as requested.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
- Ability to learn about our products and keep up to date product knowledge
- Process sales in an accurate manner
- Balance cash registers
- Provide Outstanding Customer Service
- Assisting customers who purchase /or pick-up merchandise at the store.
- Process Sales Orders generated at the counter.
- Provide customers with reliable information regarding product specifications and pricing.
- Assisting team Members in servicing customers, answering phone calls, stocking merchandise and pulling orders for deliveries.
- Process Cash sale returns and refund paperwork
- Maintain cleanliness of counter area and ensuring merchandise displays remain stocked, current and neat
- Ensure that store displays are categorized properly
- Miscellaneous projects as assigned
Other Duties:
- Assist with customers in the yard as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
Reliable transportation; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent negotiation skills; pro-active planning and time management skills required. Working knowledge of construction industry product knowledge and home building requirements Highly self-motivated and positive attitude
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills are essential.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- 2 Years of Building Materials Counter Sales Experience
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Physical demands include lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling, and walking,
- The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving forklifts, noise, vibration and extreme weather conditions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Work schedule varies and requires employee to work every other Saturday and responsible for closing the store on occasion. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm

Position Summary: As a delivery driver, you will be responsible for transporting building materials from our company yards and warehouse locations to customers' job sites and residential properties. Duties include assisting with truck loading while complying with all company safety policies and state and federal regulations. Use navigation systems to map routes and make deliveries timely and safely.
Essential Functions:
Perform vehicle pre-and post-trip inspections
Provide excellent customer service while delivering products
Responsible for inspecting and maintaining vehicles, including regular maintenance, safety,
state inspections, and emergency repairs
Report any accidents or delays to dispatchers or reporting manager
Keep detailed logs of vehicle maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs to ensure their
trucks remain safe and legal to drive
Accurately record pickups and drop-offs to ensure the dispatcher has a record of successful
deliveries
Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed.
Utilize GPS technology to outline routes while considering weight-limits regulations on
roads and tunnels, weather conditions, and traffic
Responsible for essential vehicle maintenance and following safe work practices, policies,
and processes
Communicate with dispatchers and other logistics personnel while completing their routes,
including sharing updates on delivery timelines, route conditions, and logging breaks
Education, Experience, and Age Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and communicate in English
21 years or older
At least three years of driving experience
Valid CDL Class B license required
Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a DOT medical card required
1 year of documented relevant commercial vehicle driving experience in the last 5 years
required
3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
Follow all federal and state laws, regulations, and other corresponding regulatory agencies'
standards and guidelines
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job
Work the required schedule, complete our employment application, and submit to a
background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and
drug screening required. This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation, is
designated as safety-sensitive by the company, and is subject to quarterly random drug
tests. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness is required
Preferred Experience:
5 Years CDL B Driver Experience
Prior product knowledge and experience working with building materials and lumber yards
Certified in operating Forklifts
Experience transporting Lumber and building materials
